Antimicrobial Resistance: Diagnostic Stewardship for small animal & equine practice

Where: University of Surrey, Guildford
When: Thursday 7th November, 2024

Building on our 2019 lab-clinician meeting at Willows Veterinary Centre and the 2023 version at the RVC, we are back with a similar event later this year. We hope that this will be an opportunity to build on this collaborative initiative focused on antimicrobial stewardship and centred on the role of veterinary diagnostic laboratories.

The day will include interactive talks and opportunities for workshops. We will look to cover topics including the new(ish) CLSI breakpoints; the link between MIC, CBPs and dosing regimen; new diagnostic tools for the laboratory and their impact on clinical work; and how to manage AST interpretation when there are no specific pathogen-antibiotic clinical breakpoints.

The meeting costs £75 to cover speaker expenses and food on the day.

We have a room capacity of approx. 80 so please do book when you can so that we can open the meeting up (by invitation) to other interested parties (including more clinicians) too! For now we are prioritising attendance for the diagnostic laboratories as this will be the focus of this event.

Interested clinicians are invited to contact me directly via email [email protected] prior to registering.
