Tom Greensmith presents "Therapeutic plasma exchange: Why, when, how, and for what?"

Tom graduated from the RVC in 2010 and immediately began working in a busy emergency clinic covering local clinics out of hours provision. He undertook a rotating small animal internship at Langford Veterinary Services in 2012 and resumed his prior job before beginning his residency in Emergency and Critical Care at the RVC in 2015. Tom became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care in 2018 and joined the faculty at the RVC’s Queen Mother Hospital for Animals where his interest focussed on extracorporeal therapies, including dialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange and clinical perfusion. He obtained his European diplomate and RCVS Specialist status in 2019 and between 2018 and 2024 he was the lead criticalist for the cardiothoracic surgery cases. Tom remains at the RVC where he is currently a senior lecturer in ECC.

Emma Roberts presents 'Feline Hypoadrenocorticism: Recognising the Zebras among the Horses'

Emma graduated from the RVC in 2007. After spending four years in small animal general practice, Emma undertook a rotating internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Glasgow, alongside a Masters on feline hyperthyroidism and became a diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2016 and an RCVS Recognised Specialist in 2020. Emma has worked in both academic and private referral hospitals and is currently a senior clinician at Bristol Vet Specialists, where she is also the co-lead of the rotating internship program.

Clive Elwood will present a session entitled: ‘Sailing the 7Cs – Key concepts for consummate clinicians’.

Clive graduated from Cambridge University in 1989. He trained and practised as a Specialist in Small Animal Internal Medicine for many years.
 
In 2010 Clive became Managing Director of DVS, further developing his interest and experience in leadership and leadership development. Following his curiosity, Clive pursued a Master’s in Executive Coaching at Ashridge Hult Business School, graduating in 2021. Clive left DVS in 2019 and now spends his time on leadership development and coaching in and around the veterinary professions. In 2021 he published Leadership in Veterinary Medicine with Wiley Blackwell.

Karen Humm asks "Feline transfusion medicine: Where are we at in the UK?"

Karen is the Co-Head of the ECC team and Director of the Transfusion Medicine Service at the RVC where she’s worked since 2005.

Our final session of the day will be a panel discussion with Karen Humm, Tom Greensmith and Fernanda Camacho
